Albany Aviation started operating from Albany Airport some 28 years ago with a Twin Engine almost All Weather and 24 hour charter service but commitments to a mining company contract required us to locate that aircraft to the Pilbara region for some years.

For a number of years we only operated a Single Engine six-seater pressurised Cessna Centurion from Albany but since February 2010 both aircraft now fly again from Albany.
This all-weather charter service is very successful in providing regional companies and governmental bodies with vital air links in WA.

Charter work will mainly be conducted in our twin engine Beechcraft Baron 58 aircraft.
The aircraft is configured for a maximum of 5 passengers and is equipped with modern satellite navigation instrumentation and weather radar. We offer the service to any destination with an airstrip throughout WA as indeed to anywhere in Australia. That means even going to Birdsville is not off the beaten track for us.

In 2023, Albany Aviation was acquired with significant investment in the Aircraft fleet and further growing into our Jandakot Base under FlyWest Aviation. The name FlyWest was chosen to reinforce our commitment to providing a top level charter service to all regions of Western Australia. Our modern lounge, partnerships with international hotel chain providers and close ties to the Healthcare sector have helped us grow from that one aircraft, to a fleet of seven.

When you charter our aircraft it’s somewhat like hiring a taxi, without the check-in time (drive park fly) It might be a bit more expensive than taking the bus but we go directly to your destination, saving valuable time and you can take a few friends, colleagues or family with you at no extra charge when fuel and weight considerations permit. Sharing the cost with others often means that the total cost of your trip can be less than with the scheduled airlines.
